TL;DR — We collect nothing.

Your regex patterns and test strings run entirely in your browser via a Web Worker. They are never sent to our servers — because we don't have any servers processing your data.

1. Who We Are

Regexx is operated by RuntimeZero, an independent software developer. Regexx is part of the RuntimeHub ecosystem of free, browser-native web tools.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Regexx does not collect, store, or process:

  • Your regular expression patterns;
  • Your test strings or input text;
  • Your replacement strings;
  • Your IP address (beyond what your browser sends in standard HTTP requests to load static assets);
  • Any personally identifiable information.

There is no user account system, no login, no cookies set by Regexx, and no analytics script of our own.

3. How the Tool Works

All regex processing happens locally in your browser using the browser's built-in JavaScript engine, running inside a Web Worker thread. No data is transmitted over the network during tool operation.

4. Third-Party Requests

When you load Regexx, your browser makes the following external requests:

  • Google Fonts — to load the Urbanist typeface. Google may log this request according to their own Privacy Policy. The font request includes your IP address and browser information. You can self-host the font or use an ad blocker to prevent this request.
  • Cloudflare — Regexx is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) as part of CDN and DDoS protection services.

No data is shared with advertisers or marketing platforms.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

Regexx does not set any cookies. We do not use localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB. Nothing about your session is persisted between visits.

6. Children's Privacy

Regexx is a developer tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Your Rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have any privacy-related concerns, contact us at the address below.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever introduce features that change our data handling, this policy will be updated before those features go live. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
